As most residents are aware, Waste Management began providing recycling collection services to Village residents on January 2, 2017. During their first month, we are expecting that it will take their employees a little longer to collect the recyclables each day as they become more familiar with the routes. Also, their process of collecting each home is different from the manner in which it was collected by our previous vendor; namely, Waste Management will collect all homes located on the same side of the street and then proceed down the opposite side of the street whereas the previous vendor may have zigzagged across the road while collecting each home. The end result is that while your recycling will be picked up, it may be collected a little later than what you’ve become accustomed to in the past.
Should your house be missed and Waste Management failed to collect the recyclables, please contact their toll free number at 1-888-960-0008. While you will hear an automated attendant, the easiest way to get through to a customer service representative is to (a) select option 1 (for residential), (b) select option 2 (for existing accounts), and, finally, (c) select option 4 (for other – which covers any service related questions). Residents are also still welcome to contact Village staff should they have any concerns including Scott Brandmeier (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Mike Krueger at 414-351-8900.
We’ve also included their flyer in this posting which details their services.
