We Energies is expected to begin work in mid-May and the Village’s contractor is expected to begin work on the project in early June. The work will include replacement of the water main, regrading of the ditches, replacement of the storm cross culverts and selected driveway culverts, and the reconstruction of both roads. Additionally, the water main in the 7400 block between Mohawk and Crossway will also be replaced. The roads will be closed to through traffic at all times throughout construction but will be open to residents and guests. Construction is anticipated to be completed in late August to early September. Please note that if you have an invisible dog fence or a sump pump discharge line draining to the ditch, you should contact the Village and provide your contact information (name, address, etc.) to the Director of Public Works.
In addition to the work being performed on Navajo and Seneca Roads, the water service laterals for the homes located on the Lake Drive service road are being replaced this year while at the same time abandoning the old water main that currently serves the nine homes on the service road.
A public information meeting was held on Tuesday, April 18 to provide a more in-depth description of the project, schedules, and activities. The power point presentation and figures from the public information meeting are included for your review.
Once construction begins, staff will post weekly updates to the Village website which identify work completed to date, work expected to occur the subsequent week, and any changes to the construction schedule.
Should you have any questions, feel free to contact Scott Brandmeier, Director of Public Works, at email@example.com or 414-351-8900.
